Creating a connection
Microsoft Windows ME
- On your Desktop, double-click on your "My Computer" icon
- Go into the "Control Panel"
- Open the folder "Dial-up Networking"
- Then open "Make new connection"
- Type in SiteOne Internet for your connection name, select your modem, then click "Next"
- Type in the Access Number (telephone number) you'll be using, then click "Next"
- Click on "Finish"
- A new icon has now been created called "SiteOne Internet" . You can leave this new icon in your Dial-up Networking folder but we suggest you drag and drop it onto your desktop (easier to find).
You're almost done! To complete this setup, please confirm the following:
- Right mouse click on the new connection (SiteOne Internet) and click on properties
- Under the General Tab, make sure the "use country and area code" box is unchecked
- Select the "server types" tab and be sure the "Enable software compression" and "TCP/IP" boxes are checked
- Click on the "TCP/IP Settings" button and make sure the radio buttons for "Server assigned IP" and "Server assigned name server" are selected
- Below that, be sure the boxes are checked for "Use IP header compression" and "Use default gateway"
- To connect to our network, double-click on your SiteOne Internet icon. Type in your username and password, then click on "Connect".
